Tuesday, December 7th is Colorado Gives Day, and we’d like to encourage everyone here in Southwestern Colorado to donate what they can to help our local non profits!
We at Team North Star believe in the importance of giving back to the community we call home and we are dedicated to serving our community. We strive to ensure that the work we do benefits those who live and work here in Durango. We donate 1% of our proceeds to local non-rpfote organizations.
We’d like to take this opportunity to highlight one of the non-profits in town that we support and whose mission we strongly believe in.
The Manna Soup Kitchen here in Durango, Colorado, aims to provide nourishing meals and supportive services in an atmosphere of acceptance and caring for those in need. The work they do is invaluable to helping improve the quality of life for everyone in our community.
We’d also like to acknowledge the hard work put in by Manna’s Executive Director, Ann Morse. We’ve known Ann for many years, even before she became the ED at Manna in 2019. She has been an active member of the Durango community for 15 years, and she knows the value and importance of food security as a key element in a healthy community.
Manna Soup Kitchen was founded in 1985 and has since become an integral part of Durango. In addition to serving nearly 60,000 meals per year, they also have a Culinary Program in which they train individualsto enter the workforce and gain greater self-sufficiency. Overall, Manna is a key contributor to the overall health and economic vitality of this beloved region, and we are proud to support them and their work in our community.
