team north star

Prior to the formation of Team North Star, John Ralph worked as an individual broker for The Wells Group for over 25 years. Tiare and Alix had been working in a partnership for The Wells Group for over eight years. Monique got her license in the summer of 2017. Around the same time, these four Realtors® decided to combine their strengths and create Team North Star within The Wells Group.

So why a team? What’s the advantage in contrast to a single Realtor®?

First off, teams lend themselves to the obvious advantage of more people serving our clientele. This translates to greater collective knowledge of Durango and real estate. It means superior coverage of client needs; if one realtor is unavailable, there are three more licensed, skilled team members waiting to help. This support and cooperation means appointments get made faster, questions get immediate answers, and contracts and deadlines are closely monitored. Plus, our clients experience the benefits of a real estate office with local and global outreach when they work with The Wells Group Realtors®.

Personally, we love the team aspect because we are a family (Quite literally! Monique is Tiare’s stepdaughter). Team North Star focuses on team member success alongside client success. There is a dedication to financial support, as all commissions generated are shared amongst team members.

We look forward to working together to help you achieve your goals.

Tiare brings 20+ years of combined experience as a Realtor, Certified Real Estate Appraiser, a real estate investor/developer, and rental manager to the partnership. She grew up in San Diego, graduated from the Colorado Rocky Mountain School and obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Berkeley. Alix has 25 years of combined experience as a Realtor and real estate investor as well as experience in business and construction. She spent much of her childhood in Santa Fe, New Mexico and made the move back to the Four Corners in 2007. Alix and her family love the Rocky Mountains and spend as much time as possible backpacking, hiking, skiing, playing with their dogs Pippin and Bodhi and riding their horses. Living on horse property gives her the opportunity to have her horses and wide open spaces right outside her back door.

BROKER ASSOCIATE - specializes in rentals, commercial property

John Ralph, of The Wells Group, calls Durango, Colorado his home.  Resident of the area since 1979, John can hardly help but be involved in many of the outdoor opportunities that abound in the area, such as biking, skiing, and hiking.  John and his wife, Bette, have a daughter, Jennifer, and a son, Brian, and are convinced there is no better pace to raise a family.  Clean air, awe inspiring views, low crime rates, and a top-ranking school system are only a few of the reasons Durango has seen a recent surge in popularity.  Having a family has helped John become a superior Realtor, and as a result he has a broader perspective on the issues concerning either an individual or family and is sensitive to those needs.

BROKER ASSOCIATE - specializes in farm land, rural properties

Monique spent her early life in the slow paced mountain town of Telluride and the fast paced world of Orange County. She took several fashion courses and eventually fell into the world of fashion through modeling. After several years in the fast paced and often time intensive industry, she decided she wanted a change of lifestyle. With her focus on family, health and community, she immersed herself learning about farming and food production and quickly fell in love with organic farming. Monique’s introduction to real estate began with an opportunity to work with one of the top teams in Durango,  Alix Rowland and Tiare Flora. Her goal is to connect individuals, couples and families with not just a house, but a new place to call home in Southwest Colorado. Just as she fell in love with Durango so many years ago, she is here to help you do the same in our wildly diverse Colorado country.

Licensed ASSISTANT - specializes in marketing & Home Staging

Dahlia moved to Durango after discovering the area on a summer road trip back in 2015. She was drawn to the mountain lifestyle and abundant natural beauty of the region. Dahlia has been in the Real Estate industry over 10 years. She first became licensed in Florida at the age 0f 25. Her passion for homes and design merged, when she began researching how to properly present and market properties, specifically for sales. She takes pride in “creating spaces where buyers feel welcome and free to imagine themselves.” When she isn't staging and assisting Team North Star with all things Real Estate, she enjoys spending time with her loved ones and furry family, cooking, traveling and exploring all that the San Juan Mountains has to offer.

Mountain Living

In the foothills of the stunning San Juan mountains, we are lucky to call Durango home. This town is small enough to boast a warm, connected community, easy biking and walking throughout, and a beautiful, historic downtown. Wherever you are in town, you are minutes from incredible biking, hiking, and running trails. In the winter, you can be out your front door and skiing killer powder in less than an hour. The desert beckons from the West and South of Durango, filled with incredible ancient ruins, slick-rock canyons, and meandering rivers. What's not to love?
